Bass Pro Shops’ Santa’s Wonderland is a fabulous in-store extravaganza of activities for kids (and adults). Best part, it’s all FREE (well of course you’ll pick up SOME gift while you’re there.)
The festivities kick on Saturday, Nov. 6th at 5 pm with a magical tree lighting, the arrival of Santa, the unveiling of Santa’s Wonderland, carolers, $25 Bass Pro Shop gift card giveaways every half hour, plus free crafts, Santa Bandzs (to the first 150 kids) and cookies and McStevens hot chocolate.
If you can’t make it to the opening, don’t worry, there are lots of free games and activities, crafts, and free photos with Santa until December 24. For a full schedule, click here and note that all activities are NOT available on all days, so check before you go. Games and activities include slot racing, soft gun arcade, remote control trucks, Red Ryder Laser Arcade (can you still shoot your eye out with a laser gun?) and more. I’d never get my kids out of there.
If you don’t want to wait in line to see Santa, no worries; at Bass Pro Shops, if Santa is busy with photos and the line requires a wait longer than 30 minutes, find one of the Bass Pro Shop elves and they’ll give you a Bass Pass. The pass allows you to come back at an appointed time.
New this year, and sure to have parents going nuts is Santa Bandz. For those who do not know about the Silly Bandz craze, count yourself lucky. Santa Bandz are free to the first 150 kids to visit Santa’s Wonderland and there are different bandz every week. The bandz are only available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5 – 7 pm and on Thanksgiving from 3 – 5 pm. I didn’t realize Bass Pro Shops was open ON Thanksgiving; could be a fun, inexpensive “get the kids out of the house with those cousins that are way too rowdy” idea.
